Mission of the Research Program
in the Department of Research and Teacher Education

"The Research Program at the National Technical Institute for the Deaf will focus on conducting applied research that improves teaching and learning processes, advances study of technology and application of communication strategies, and examines occupational and community experiences of deaf society.

Through collaboration among colleagues in the Department of Research and Teacher Education, NTID, RIT, and the community, the challenges facing deaf education will be addressed so as to uphold NTID's commitment to postsecondary deaf students and the field of deafness."

Comments on NTID Research Agenda
You are invited to suggest considerations for the ongoing refinement of the NTID research agenda, which is intended to address the most pressing issues that affect the social, economic, and educational accommodation of deaf people. NTID believes that the key research questions we pursue should be the product of an active process, responsive to the changing needs of the college and the field.
