The Marine Science Pictionary is a lexicon of basic terms often used during the Problem Based Learning experiences on the RV Connecticut as part of a National Science Foundation (NSF) grant project which ended in 2005. Deaf students from the American School for the Deaf regularly conducted experiments on the Long Island Sound. The Pictionary includes terms, available technical signs, a picture, and sometimes a description of the term as it relates to this NSF project. After the NSF "Classroom of the Sea" project was finished, the Pictionary continued to be improved:
