One of the most enduring and meaningful ways an individual or organization can make a difference in the lives of RIT students is through scholarship funding. Today's students are the leaders of tomorrow, and an investment in them through scholarships will pay the highest of dividends.
- 94% of American families cannot afford the tuition, fees, room and board at a university of RIT's caliber without financial assistance.
- 75% of undergraduate and 40% of graduate students at RIT require some form of financial aid to meet educational costs.
- In 2006 - 2007, more than 12,000 RIT students receive over $180 million dollars in financial assistance from federal, state, and institutional resources, in the form of scholarships, grants, loans, and part-time employment.
To attract top students and ensure they will have what they need to complete their education, RIT must be able to offer a competitive financial assistance package. Every gift to a scholarship fund or our RIT Endowment Fund means more students can obtain an RIT education.
Currently, RIT has more than 580 scholarship funds (including 350 named scholarships), and they range in requirements from very general to highly specialized, and from merit based to need based. You may want to identify the scholarship fund that means the most to you and support it through your annual gift to the Fund for RIT.
If you are interested in establishing a scholarship fund, please contact the Director of Donor Relations, Susan Parrino.
