We welcome those generous donors who are interested in setting up a scholarship fund in their own name or in memory or honor of a student, faculty member, or program. There are two types of scholarships that can be created:
Annual Scholarships – You can have an annual scholarship fund created and named after you, your family, or in memory of someone, and you can designate it to the college/school/program of your choice. By completing a Statement of Intent form, you can determine how you want RIT to award your scholarship funds (e.g., select criteria such as academic achievement, demonstrated need, student affiliations, etc.). It is suggested that this type of scholarship start at the $1,000 level, and you can continue to support this scholarship over many years by making an annual gift to your fund.
Endowed Scholarships – This type of scholarship continues in perpetuity. An endowed scholarship may also be named for you, your family, or in memory of someone, and it may be designated to the college/school/program of your choice. Again, you will complete a Statement of Intent form to clarify how you want the funds awarded. The minimum gift for an endowed scholarship is $25,000.
