The Gravure program is housed within the School of Print Media (SPM) at RIT and serves the purpose of disseminating research and educational information of value to the graphic arts industry. This web site gives you an overview of the curriculum, publication, and the lab resources available in SPM. It also provides a number of links to various companies within the industry.
The gravure research and education initiative is a three year project funded by the Gravure Association of America. The two main goals of the initiative are:
(1) to further gravure research and
(2) to promote gravure education in SPM's curriculum.
Prof. Robert Chung is responsible for the Gravure activities. Bob has been a faculty member of Rochester Institute of Technology since 1980. He was awarded Gravure Research professorship in February 2004. He was the 1991 recipient of the GATF Education Award of Excellence. He has served on the board of International Graphic Arts Education Association (IGAEA), and Technical Association of the Graphic Arts, and Intersociety for Color Council.
