and June. The ITC proposal form is waiting for you at http://www.rit.edu/~ntiditc/proposal-form.shtml.
If would like any assistance preparing a proposal or would like guidance
as to which strand you should attend, please contact me. ITC Studio
proposals must be submitted by May 18, 2000. Hurry space is limited.
An ITC Studio is an ideal environment for focusing and reflecting on your teaching. You will have the opportunity to learn new applications, work on your curriculum, receive support from the best instructional technology experts on campus and mix with your colleagues to discuss issues related to pedagogy and technology. Below are the descriptions of the ITC Studios to be offered this May and June. Following the descriptions, I have attached my April 19th email that describes the details of the ITC Studio experience. World Wide Web - Kathy crandall Participants will focus on the creation and implementation of WWW applications. Emphasis will be placed on strategies and fundamentals of web site design. Participants will identify shifts in educational pedagogy within web applications. Strategies for making a web site more user friendly, dynamic, interactive and effective will be presented. Evaluation and research techniques and opportunities will also be discussed. Contact Bill Clymer or Kathy crandall for more information Visual Preparation and Presentation Applications - Sam Holcomb or David Hazelwood This Studio strand will focus on the creation, manipulation and presentation of instructional information in the digital format. Emphasis will be placed on strategies to incorporate visuals within the instructional setting. PowerPoint and other Microsoft Office applications, as well as multimedia tools will be presented. Contact Sam Holcomb, David Hazelwood or Bill Clymer for more information. Blackboard CourseInfo - Sonny Stowe Explore RIT's new web-based course management tool. All the features of the product will be demonstrated and participants will use the student view of a sample course to obtain an understanding of the benefits of the system. Features that will be discussed include course content, on-line quizzing, on-line surveying, on-line grade posting for students, on-line discussion, on-line chat and whiteboard, file dropbox, group team areas. Contact Sonny Stowe or Bill Clymer for more information. Rapid Development Tools for Building Web Courses - Simon Ting This studio will focus on building Web courses using a suite of rapid
development tools created by Simon Ting under a 1999 RIT Provost's Productivity
Grant. The tools allow you to organize, reformat, and publish your existing
course materials on the Web. No HTML or programming experience is
necessary. In order to participate in this strand, you must have
your complete course materials ready for conversion to the WWW. Contact

background information on these development tools.
