Athletic Coordinator Position Responsibilities:  
  • Attend Sport Assistant meetings on a regular basis.

  • Maintain open communication with the NTID Center for Human Performance Support Team and Sport Assistants on a regular basis.

  • Host the Sport Assistant booth at the Apple Festival in early September

  •  Assist Sport Assistants with other responsibilities as needed.

  • Collaborate and maintain open communication with the NTID Student Assembly (NSA) and Student Life Team (SLT) as well as attend their meetings on a regular basis.

  • Assist with the promotion of RIT's Intramural events involving deaf students.

  • Observe the RIT Intramural events in which deaf team(s) or participant(s) compete.

  • Collect and record data on the number of Deaf RIT Intramural teams and participants.

  • Attend all RIT Intramural Awards ceremony at the end of each quarter.

  • Interview and hire the Deaf Basketball Association's (DBA) Chairperson in October.

  • Work closely with the DBA Chairperson in interviewing and hiring the DBA's Committee (Assistant Men's and Women's Chairperson, Secretary/Treasure, Coaches and Referees) in October.

  • Host the Sport Assistant booth at the Apple Festival in early September

  •  Assist Sport Assistants with other responsibilities as needed.

  • Collaborate and maintain open communication with the NTID Student Assembly (NSA) and Student Life Team (SLT) as well as attend their meetings on a regular basis.

  • Share responsibilities with the NTID Student Council in interviewing and hiring the RIT/Gally Weekend Chairperson.

  • Work closely with the NTID Student Council's RIT/Gally Weekend Chairperson Planning Committee for the event planning and By-laws revision.

  • Organize the RIT/Gally Weekend event to be held at RIT or Gallaudet annually in the month of April.

  • Schedule and reserve athletic facilities for the RIT/Gally Weekend tryouts, practices and sporting events through the Staff Assistant at Student Life Center's front office.

  • Interview and hire the RIT/Gally Weekend Coaches and Referees in January.

  • Provide a workshop on sport rules for the RIT/Gally Weekend Coaches in February.

  • Provide a training for Deaf RIT/Gally Weekend Referees in March.

  • Provide a workshop on basketball rules for the DBA Coaches in October

  • Attend the DBA meetings on a regular basis as a SA representative

  • Act as an assistant to the DBA Commissioner and work closely with the DBA Committee

  • Be present at the DBA Draft Night and all DBA games on Fridays and Saturdays and playoffs

  Public Relations Coordinator Position Responsibilities:

  • Promote the RIT's Intercollegiate Athletic, Recreational, Wellness and Intramural programs and opportunities available to deaf and hard of hearing students.

  • Lead meetings with the PR Assistants

  • Supervise and assign tasks to Public Relations Assistants and Photographers

Photographer Position Responsibilities:

  • Attend Sport Assistant meetings on a regular basis.

  • Maintain open communication with the NTID Support Team to Center for Human Performance and Sport Assistants on a regular basis.

  • Assist other Sport Assistants with other responsibilities needed.

  • Host the Sport Assistant booth at the Apple Festival in early September

  • Promote the RIT's Intercollegiate Athletic, Recreational, Wellness and Intramural programs and opportunities available to deaf and hard of hearing students.

  • Attend and take pictures of RIT Intercollegiate Athletic events and practices, RIT Intramural competitions and other NTID CHP related events, i.e. RIT/Gally Weekend, Deaf Basketball Association and AppleFest.

  • Edit and create photos in artwork using the software program, i.e. Photoshop.
