Initiation takes place every Fall and Winter quarter. These are the steps taken during the initiation process:
  1. Based on the Eligibility Requirements , students receive an invitation to join Tau Beta Pi in their student mail folder.

  2. Attend Information Meeting (week 2)
    • Officers inform the eligible students about Tau Beta Pi

  3. Attend Initiate Meeting (week 3)
    • Receive Bent and Signature Books

  4. Character Evaluations (week 4)
    • Given by officers

  5. Polished Bent must be approved by officers (week 7)
    • Do by hand using any tools you desire
    • Should be shinny, with smooth edges and no visible scratches

  6. Signature Book must be approved by officers (week 7)
    • Collect signatures from 5 TBP student members and 5 TBP faculty members

  7. Complete a service project
    • Performed with the group or individually (project must be approved)
    • Skyway of Hope Dinner, Habitat for Humanity, Red Cross, etc.

  8. Attend Initiation Ceremony (Sunday of week 9)
    • After the ceremony we take our new members out to lunch!
