The Academic Support Center provides services for all RIT and RIT/NTID supported Baccalaureate and Graduate degree-seeking students. Any NTID students enrolled in an associate’s degree program such as NTID’s AAS, AOS or AA program should first seek academic support from NTID’s Counseling and Academic Advising Services office.
If you are an upper-class student (second year or beyond), consider becoming part of the YearOne Peer Advisor program. Help first-year students transition to college life, become an integral part of the RIT community, and benefit from your own student experiences. In addition, this is a great opportunity to share and build your leadership and student involvement experiences. Below are some common questions about the program and how to become involved.
YearOne Peer Advisors are current RIT students who are actively engaged in campus and academic life on campus, and understand both the excitement and the trepidation that comes with the college transition. Peer Advisors and an integral part of the course and are carefully chosen; they are successful and personable undergraduates and are highly motivated to help first-year students to:
Upper-class students possessing previous leadership and campus engagement
experience can apply to become a Lead Peer Advisor. Lead Peer Advisors are
responsible for assisting in the classroom and helping with the supervision of
the Peer Advisors.
Lead PA Responsibilities
The time commitment will be about 10 hours per week for Lead Peer Advisors. For Peer Advisors, it will be about 5 hours per week. Please keep in mind that specific hours may vary each week.

In addition to submitting an application, participation in a group process day is also required for selected candidates. Specific deadlines are noted on the application.

Students needing interpreting should submit requests through Access Services. Please be sure to allow enough advance notice for Access Services to accommodate your request.
