Position Summary

Assist the Wellness Instructional Staff in the management, inventory and maintenance of wellness equipment and studios in the Student Life Center.

Essential Tasks

• Routine cleaning, organization and inventory of Wellness Instructional Program class equipment and materials.
• Assist in the pricing of new supplies, material and equipment used for courses offered.

Position Summary

A collaborative effort between the Exercise Science Program, The Wellness Instructional Program, and Better Me; the Fitness Lab is RIT’s Exercise Science Laboratory. The Lab has several functions including: Fitness Assessment, Exercise Program Creation, and lab work conducted by students in the Exercise Science Program. This position involves working in the lab under the guidance of the Wellness Instructional Program staff.

Essential Tasks

• Data entry.
• Assisting and/or conducting fitness assessments.
• Assisting with and/or creating exercise programming.
• Helping with the setup and breakdown of lab equipment.
• Investigating current Exercise Science technology, software, equipment; and reviewing current Exercise Science literature.
• Interface with current Wellness Instructional Program Adjunct Personal Training Staff, The Director of the Exercise Science Program and the Better Me Personal Training Staff.

Job Requirements

• Basic understanding of exercise science, human anatomy and physiology, strength/weight training, and diet and nutrition management.

Position Summary

Responsible for the design of individually customized training programs for students enrolled in these courses.

Essential Tasks

• Responsible for the upholding all the policies and procedures assigned to their position.
• Schedule regular weekly meetings with their clients
• Maintain accurate records including workouts, grading information/attendance, medical screening forms, and all other documentation
• Motivate clients to exercise and include good nutritional practices as part of their lifestyle.

Job Requirements

• ACSM or Cooper Certified Personal Trainer.
• Successful completion of the Fitness Lab Student Assistant position.

Instruct, observe and evaluate students enrolled in the course.

Previous experience in the related course and appropriate certification based on course content.
