Introduction LibreOffice

 

Attend the four-day Introduction to LibreOffice workshop March 5-8, 2012 at the PUENTE Learning Center in East Los Angeles for FREE.

 

The workshop will be held daily from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM. Lunch and daily refreshments will be provided.

 

Workshop Description:

 

LibreOffice is an open source office suite containing six powerful applications that you can download, install, and use for free. LibreOffice was developed by The Document Foundation as a branch of OpenOffice.org and can be used with major operating systems, including Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X and GNU/Linux.

 

This four-day workshop will focus on 4 of the 6 applications available in LibreOffice: Writer (a word processor), Calc (a spreadsheet), Impress (used for presentations), and Draw (used for drawing).

 

 

Topics:

  • Using Write to work with text, tables, and diagrams

  • Using Calc to solve basic spreadsheet problems

  • Using Impress to create Multimedia presentations

  • Using Draw to build diagrams and sketches from scratch

 

Prerequisites:

 

Workshop attendees should be familiar with personal computers and working with the Windows operating
systems.
