Our monthly English-sponsored faculty/student reading series continues  on Thursday February 26, 5-6:30 pm at the Reading Room, Campus Center, SAU, with Chandra McKenzie, Asst. Provost for Academic Affairs, plus RIT students and creative writing minors Erin Hutson (4th yr. Advertising and Public Relations) and Jamal Henderson (5th yr. Multidisciplinary Studies). Come join us for a celebration of RIT creativity, and enjoy some pizza, too!


Undergraduate/Faculty Reading Series

The third reading in this year's English Department Undergraduate/Faculty creative writing series will be held this Thursday, December 4, at 5pm in the SAU Reading Room. This reading will feature speculative fictions written by Professors Trent Hergenrader and Jessica Lieberman’s Steampunk Rochester! students. This will be a multi-media event, with live readings and new media presentations.  I hope you can make it!

As Signatures, R.I.T.’s literary and arts journal kicks off its 30th year, come celebrate with a reading devoted to Signatures editors, contributors, and faculty advisors. Readers include students Meghan Boilard, Angela Freeman, Sayre Harvell, Anna Latzer, and Carolina Rago as well as faculty members Robert Glick, John Roche, and past Signatures contributors. It should be a fantastic reading!


The Globe Goes to the Movies Symposium

Organized by Dr. Elena Rakhimova-Sommers (Department of English), The Globe at the Movies Symposium aims to celebrate and reflect upon the rich and multifaceted nature of global film. This event features film screenings and invited talks by film scholars and directors. The public forum format is an opportunity for students and faculty to ask probing questions about the film directors’ vision pertaining to complex issues faced by the rapidly changing global community.
