Prospective Students - Consider Graduate Studies in Sustainability...at Rochester Institute of Technology's Golisano Institute for Sustainability.

GIS offers advanced studies for motivated students with a B.S./B.A. in Math … the Sciences … IT … Engineering … Public Policy … Environmental Studies … and related disciplines. We launched the world's first Ph.D. in Sustainability focusing on sustainable production systems, and we now offer an M.S. in Sustainable Systems.

You can select from academic programs in 5 high-demand career tracks:

  • Sustainable Energy
  • Sustainable Mobility
  • Eco-IT
  • Built Systems Sustainability

Our in-depth coursework comprehends the Sciences of Sustainability and Economics of Sustainability, Risk/Decision Analysis, Industrial Ecology, and more. And GIS graduate students can take advantage of interesting hands-on research opportunities at GIS' state-of-the-art research centers:

  • Center for Remanufacturing and Resource Recovery
  • Center for Sustainable Production
  • Center for Sustainable Mobility
  • New York State Pollution Prevention Institute
  • NanoPower Research Labs

GIS will hold 60-minute information sessions for students interested in the M.S. in Sustainable Systems degree program in room 3140 of Sustainability Institute Hall (Building 081) on the RIT campus and will be followed by a tour of the building. Sessions will be held:

  • -- Tuesday, Feb 18, at 5:00 p.m.
  • -- Wednesday, March 19, at 5:00 p.m.
  • -- Monday, April 21, at 5:00 p.m.
  • -- Thursday, May 15, at 5:00 p.m.
