Members,

     We had a light showing for the most recent meeting with a lot of members busy with homework but we were still able to discuss several topics. 

Satellite Rotor

     Justin Morse (KD8DYG) and Jameson Finney (KI4JOA) measured the cable length of the satellite station to be 142 feet from the club room to the base of the tower. We are currently looking at the different options of cable that we have and their price ranges. 

 HF Rotor

     The rotor in the club room is being checked as a possible replacement

to the one located on the HF Beam tower. We suspect either a loose fitting or a broken gear. 

 School Club Round-up

     Many members of the club have operated during this year's (October) School Club Roundup contest. The club station is now operating the FL-7000 amplifier and has been doing extremely well with nearly 30,000 points and nearly 230 contacts as of the writing of this article! Members are encouraged to attend the last day of the contest this Friday (23-10-2009).

5:30PM-7PM (End of Contest)

 CQ World Wide Contest This Weekend

     The CQWW contest start this Friday through Sunday and is quite possibly one of the biggest contests over the year. The club has decided to meet on Saturday October 24th, 2009 at Noon-2PM in the club room to operate the contest. Members are encouraged to attend and even bring some type of snack to share during the meeting. I can guarantee that you will hear countries and islands that you have never even heard about before!
