I was thinking that it would be great if we could get a net together. There are a bunch of new members that are coming in with callsigns and I think a net would be a great way to increase the clubs presence in the community. I would be happy to run the net if need be. I was wondering when everyone is free? A good time in my opinion might be after the meeting on Wednesdays.

This does sound like a good idea and I would like to participate. I'd like to suggest Sunday nights, my club back home does a Sunday night net and it works out very well. I suggest this because usually during this time most people are at home/dorm and will not be out doing other things rather than homework. Of course people are encouraged to stay around and chat but even if they just check in and out to support the club and then go back to homework.
If you are really serious about running a net then I will be more than happy to help set it up with you. I've ran a few nets along time ago and can help you get the needed components together. What you do think?

Sunday would be good for me, except that I am usually only free after 10 on Sundays, which may be a problem for some people who have early classes on Monday morning.
I would greatly appreciate the help considering that I am not 100% sure what I have to do to get this to work.
You had also previously mentioned linking several clubs together and having a net for that too or maybe merging the two?

there is a University Net on the Internet2 IRLP network which K2GXT is a member of. If you want to help with that then we could get you in contact with the person running that and you could possibly be net control there. I'm definitly up for having a net and at least for the Fall would join in via Echolink!
