Dr. Marca
Lam Lecturer Office: 2191 Gleason Biography: Dr. Lam taught for twelve years at Cooper Union in the chemical engineering department immediately prior to joining RIT. Most of her teaching load was in mechanical engineering though, as well as all of her graduate students. On average, she taught three classes per semester and was active as faculty advisor to ASME, and also participated actively in the New York Metropolitan and Westchester sections of ASME. Prior to leaving Cooper Union, Dr. Lam had attained tenure and was promoted to associate professor. Dr. Lam joined RIT as a visiting associate professor for the fall quarter of 2006, before taking her current position as instructional faculty. Dr. Lam's focus at RIT is on teaching by close collaboration with other
faculty, expanding the vibrations laboratory facility, help to enhance the
breadth of courses taught at RIT, and to increase the awareness of
engineering, specifically mechanical, as a viable major for young women.
