Health Information Resources
Program Overview
Health information needs will drive health care organizations to spend more effort and money on information technology, systems and personnel. The professionals required to manage and staff these growing systems will possess increased training in both health care information and information technology. The health information manager of today and tomorrow will need to be more technically competent, understand the unique inner workings of health care organizations, and be able to define the information needs across vast integrated organizations with disparate software and hardware systems.
Curriculum Review
The combination of these four courses will allow health information professionals an opportunity to advance their knowledge of information technology and systems while also providing basic management education. Current MS students may also take the HIR courses as electives.
