Using Minitab® for Understanding Data

In today's quality-conscious world, understanding data is essential for planning, decision-making, and process improvement. Many managers, engineers, and even operators are now expected to interpret data. How can I summarize large amounts of data? What do the results mean? In this webinar, you will learn the basic skills and knowledge on how to understand data by using Minitab® statistical software. This webinar consists of two 3-hour sessions scheduled on two different days. The participants will work through a combination of online instructions, demonstrations, and hands-on computer practice.

Topics include:

  • Introduction to Minitab®
  • Statistical thinking
  • Sampling methods and data collection
  • Measures of dispersion and central tendency
  • Histograms, box plots, and scatter plots

You will benefit by:

  • Seeing how data can be affected by the way it is collected
  • Gaining insight into data by choosing the best statistics
  • Using computer software, Minitab®, to make charts, tables, diagrams, and plots
  • Understanding both the power and the limitations of data
