I highly encourage students to take the time to go abroad. While it took me a few tries to find the time and funding for my first study abroad trip. I have now been able to visit multiple countries.
While working on Engineering, Public Policy, and International and Global Studies degrees at RIT; studying abroad has given me a greater appreciation for the world we live in. As well as connection with other students around the world.
I would urge students to start investigating study abroad programs and scholarships early, while trying to be flexible. I had to reapply for multiple scholarships before one worked out. Studying abroad is a once in a lifetime opportunity that should definitely be taken advantage of. The Education Abroad Office has a bunch of wonderful staff that will help you along the way.
