The Professor Rahamimoff Travel Grants Program for Young Scientists

The Prof. Rahamimoff Travel Grants Program is open to PhD students doing research that requires facilities or expertise not available in their home countries.

Each year, the Rome Prize is awarded to about thirty emerging artists and scholars who represent the highest standard of excellence and who are in the early or middle stages of their working lives. The deadline for the nation-wide Rome Prize competition is 1 November 2015. Applications will also be accepted between 2-15 November 2015 for an additional fee.

ThinkSwiss Research Scholarship

This program offers travel grants to U.S. and Canadian participants of several Swiss summer schools. The participants will benefit from hands-on research, training and exposure to cutting-edge issues within a professional research community.

Thomas R. Pickering Fellowships

Funded by the U.S. Department of State and administered by The Washington Center for Internships and Academic Seminars, the 2016 Thomas R. Pickering Fellowship Program provides undergraduate and graduate students with financial support, mentoring and professional development to prepare them academically and professionally for a career in the U.S. Department of State Foreign Service. A five year contractual obligation to work with the Foreign Service is required after the degree is complete.

Undergraduates must be junior standing at time of application/all applicants must have at least a 3.2

Up to $37,500 annually for tuition, room and board, books, mandatory fees and some travel expenses, employment with the Foreign Service

Tortuga Backpacks Study Abroad Scholarship

Our mission is to help people take amazing trips, including students studying abroad. The Tortuga Study Abroad Scholarship is awarded biannually to passionate students who want to explore the world. At Tortuga, our mission is to help you live on your terms, including students studying abroad. When customers purchase luggage from us for their trips, they are “paying it forward” by funding scholarships for students like you.

The winner of the Tortuga Scholarship will receive:
$1,000 scholarship for studying abroad
1 travel backpack

The scholarship may be used for tuition, room and board, books, or travel. Funds will be sent directly to the winner's study abroad program or university. In cases where this is not possible, alternative arrangements will be made.

Eligibility Requirements

To apply for the Tortuga Study Abroad Scholarship, you must:

Be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or currently studying in the US on a student visa
Be a full-time undergraduate student in good academic standing at a four-year, degree-granting college or university in the U.S.
Have applied to or been accepted into a study abroad program eligible for credit by your college or university

Award Amount:

$1,000 and a backpack

U.S.-Brazil Connect Global Leaders Fellowship

US-Brazil Connect invites outstanding college students and young professionals to apply to the Global Leaders Fellowship, including travel to Brazil in summer 2015. Training is provided along with new skills in international leadership, new friendships and networks, and a highly subsidized 4-week experience in Brazil.

Eligibility:

To apply, interested applicants must be at least 18 years of age and be either a college graduate or attending college courses.

Award Amount:

Provides hotel lodging, transportation to and from the school, three meals a day, local health insurance and, upon program completion, a monetary completion award.

US Friends of Chalmers Scholarship
One scholarship will be awarded in 2016 to a student with US citizenship. The scholarship comprises a full tuition fee waiver and is funded by the Chalmers alumni organization, US Friends of Chalmers. The winner of the scholarship will be invited to attend an event in Dallas, in conjunction with memorial day, during which the scholarship award ceremony will take place. The awardee's air fare, to travel to Dallas, will be covered by Chalmers.

US Teaching Assistantship in Austria

For decades this program has provided college graduates from the United States with once-in-a-lifetime opportunities to work as secondary school teaching assistants in communities all over Austria. In addition to serving as valuable linguistic models in classroom English instruction, US teaching assistants are also valuable resources for first-hand information about the "American way of life" and informal representatives of the United States. In this capacity, they contribute substantially to the promotion of mutual understanding between the peoples of the United States of America and the Republic of Austria.

Provides monthly stipend of approximately $1500, and health insurance.

Volunteer Forever Travel Scholarship

Since 2014, Volunteer Forever has been offering a travel scholarship to help participants defray the cost of volunteering, studying, interning, teaching, or working abroad. The scholarship award can be used for anything related to your travel, including the program fee, airfare, travel insurance, or even spending money while you are traveling!
