Student Government Senators are elected by students to represent various constituencies on campus. The following is a note from the current Graduate Senator.

Hey there! My name is Nirup and I am a Master’s student majoring in Information Science and Technology. I currently work as a research assistant for Prof. Michael Floeser and as a student software developer at GCCIS. I am an animal rights activist and I, along with my sister, run an animal rescue and rehabilitation shelter back in India. I play a lot of sports, especially badminton and racquetball, and love to travel around and explore new places.

My major goals as the graduate senator are to improve communication between the graduate student body and the administration, increase alumni engagement, encourage interdisciplinary projects and ensure better involvement of graduate students in RIT clubs and other events.

I have thoroughly enjoyed every moment I have spent here in the US, and at RIT. I am sure that my time ahead will be amazing as well and I wish the same for my fellow students. Feel free to contact me at ns9805@rit.edu .
