With hacking stories appearing daily in global news headlines, and a world that's more interconnected than ever, we need sharp minds focused on safeguarding online communities and capabilities. Girls will love this all-girls, hands-on camp taught by RIT faculty and students that emphasizes cyber ethics, online safety, cyber security and defense.

This RIT camp is funded by a federal grant from the NSA GenCyber program and is FREE for accepted students to attend.

Eligibility:
• middle/high school girls (incoming grades 8-12)
• this is a beginner camp, so no previous experience is necessary
• students will need to complete the application process to be considered for acceptance
• NOTE - students who have participated in the RIT GenCyber camp in the past are not eligible to apply
• NOTE - this is not a residential camp, there is no provision for overnight stay for campers

HOW TO APPLY:
Acceptance into GenCyber is determined through an application process. In order to apply, please complete this application form: http://bit.ly/2019Gencybercamp
It will ask you to:
• Provide contact demographic information for the camper
• Upload a short essay written by the camper describing their background for the workshop and explaining why participating in the workshop would be meaningful

We will begin reviewing applications on May 15th. After this, applications will be reviewed based on availability (SPOTS AVAILABLE AS OF June 12!!!). Campers from groups historically underserved and underrepresented in STEM are especially encouraged to apply.

Admitted students who accept their spot in GenCyber will then be given a code to complete camp registration forms through the Camp Tiger registration page. (Note: health and immunization forms are required before the start of camp.)
