Learn How to Manage Intellectual Property, Rights as an Author

Monday, February 20, 2017

Many academic publishers require authors to transfer some or all of their rights to their work when they seek publication. This can affect their ability to distribute their work to students or colleagues, to share it on their website or an online repository, or to incorporate it into future work. Faculty and graduate students are invited to learn more about their rights and how to manage their intellectual property at the second annual 21st Century Scholarship Unlocked hosted by The Wallace Center on February 24 at 1:00pm. Register for event.

Distinguished Speaker: Peter Hirtle is an Affiliate Fellow of the Berkman Klein Center for Internet and Society at Harvard University. Until his retirement from Cornell in 2015, he served as Senior Policy Advisor to the Cornell University Library with a special mandate to address intellectual property issues.
