In higher education, there is a growing need for a program evaluation model for administrative units. Responding to this need, the University Assessment Council (UAC) developed the Institutional Effectiveness Map (IE Map) as a tool to help administrative and academic support units at RIT to facilitate planning and identify measureable goals. One unique feature is the focus on tying results to planning and budgeting processes. The IE Map provides an opportunity for all administrative units to align to their division goals and RIT’s Key Result Areas and demonstrate how they support institutional effectiveness. The UAC is developing a review process for RIT's administrative units.
The IE Map Planning Guide provides guidance for completing the IE Map.
Administrative and academic support units in RIT divisions have made significant progress in developing Institutional Effectiveness Maps (IE Map). The goal is to move all units to the next level which entails systematically measuring outcomes and using results for improvement. Administrative units are focusing on aligning goals and outcomes to university-wide data sources and developing measures. For a list of the IE Maps that are completed or in progress, click here.
