The University Writing Program (UWP) is designed to both teach and support students as they write to learn in various phases of their RIT undergraduate career.

The program offers direct and online instruction, in English and in American Sign Language (ASL), as well as one-on-one professional and peer writing consultation. The UWP, with the help of the University Writing Committee, also supports RIT faculty in creating and implementing their writing intensive courses.

Meet the Director

Pamela Kincheloe

Writing is an extension of mind; it is a relational, knowledge-making tool for life-long learning. By offering comprehensive writing support services and by promoting a culture of writing across the RIT campus, the UWP allows students to learn how to express their ideas, advocate for change, and connect with others on a deeper level.
