Stay on Track, Graduate Ahead

Stay on Track, Graduate Ahead

Summer at RIT is for everyone, whether you’re looking to lighten your course load during fall and spring semesters, or get ahead in your studies. RIT offers graduate and undergraduate summer courses in a wide range of subjects—from General Education to program-specific. Courses are offered on-campus and online, in 5 and 10-week sessions, so you can choose the format and session that’s most convenient for you. You’ll learn the same material covered in semester-long courses, in a more focused learning environment.

Taking a few summer courses during your time at RIT may even speed up your time to graduation. Completing one or two courses each summer can help you graduate early, saving an entire semester of tuition. Early graduation also means you can enter the workforce early and start making real money sooner—making summer at RIT a smart choice!

Boost Your GPA

Boost Your GPA

Summer is the perfect time to focus on just one or two subjects, making it a great time to tackle rigorous courses. You’ll have more opportunity to focus on the course material, retain what you’ve learned, and earn a good grade. As summer class sizes tend to be smaller and the summer environment is more relaxed, you’ll have more opportunity to interact with your instructors and classmates—even in online courses.

Are you thinking about transferring credits from another school this summer? Think again! Credit transfer does not mean grade transfer. Transfer credits have no effect on your GPA, so those hard-earned grades from other schools are left behind. Make your hard-earned grades work for you.
