Summer Community Reading Orchestra at Eastman School of Music

Open to all area players of orchestral instruments (high school students and adults). This summer features popular and less famous works by Haydn and Mozart, and their contemporaries. Attention will be given to playing techniques apropos to conveying the broad dramatic language of late eighteenth-century instrumental music, and to stylistic understanding. Wind/percussion instrumentation will be different week to week, but generally requiring 1-2 flutes, 2 oboes, 2 bassoons, 2 horns, 2 trumpets, and timpani. Attendance at all sessions is NOT required.
