30-40-50 Anniversaries

30 years of Imaging Science at RIT

Thirty years after the Center for Imaging Science building was dedicated, it is now home to more than 150 students studying imaging science at the undergraduate and graduate level.

40 years of MicroE: Upgrading the SMFL

Thanks in part to a $1 million grant from New York state’s Higher Education Capital Matching Grant Program, RIT is launching a major renovation of the Semiconductor and Microsystems Fabrication Lab. This renovation will further advance RIT’s research in integrated photonics, quantum information technology, biomedical devices and sensors for smart systems.

BACC 50th Reunion

The Black Awareness Coordinating Committee began as a way for African-American students to unify and build a strong voice for when very few acknowledged what they felt or had to say. Today, the fundamental purpose of the BACC is to improve the overall image, mindset, and college experience of black students at RIT.

Jonathan Amerault ’18 (KGCOE) was promoted from associate manufacturing engineer to manufacturing engineer at Teleflex Medical.

Emily Moore ’16 (CIAS) traveled to Morocco with her family for a vacation in July.

Mark Mooney ’98 (KGCOE) will be skipping a mixed team representing Team USA Curling at the upcoming World Winter Masters Games in Innsbruck, Austria coming up in January 2020.

Keith M. Cagle Ph.D., ’82 (CLA) is the current chairperson of American Sign Language and Interpreting Education Department at RIT / NTID.

Catherine Rinehart Hogan ’86 (CAST) directed her first short film, POTSHOT, which is streaming on Amazon Fire TV (Great Lakes channel) and on Roku (Great Lakes VOD channel).

Mike Troise BS/ME ’19 (KGCOE) has begun working as a mechanical design engineer with TAIT in Lititz, PA. TAIT specializes in the design and fabrication of concert stages and live entertainment automation solutions.
