Do you know a high school senior that would thrive and excel at RIT? This is your opportunity to recruit the best for your alma mater. You can give a college-bound student of your choice a fee-waived application for undergraduate admission. By encouraging a student to apply, you can share your RIT experiences with a prospective student, while helping to defray the cost of applying to the university. To request a waiver, please click here and request one online. It's that simple!

Alumni Legacy Scholarship Application

Welcome back alumni, and welcome to RIT children of alumni!

  • What is the Alumni Legacy Scholarship?
    • A scholarship opportunity for RIT alumni, their children, and their grandchildren.
    • It is an endowed scholarship fund sponsored by alumni, for alumni.
  • Who can apply?
    • Alumni returning to school.
    • Children or grandchildren of alumni who are starting at RIT.
    • Children or grandchildren of alumni currently enrolled at RIT.
  • How many students get scholarships? How much money do they receive?
    • Since this is an endowed scholarship, the amount available to award fluctuates every year depending on the total value of the endowment and accrued interest. This year we hope to award 3 to 4 scholarships ranging from $500 to $1500.
  • How are the recipients chosen?
    • Scholarships are awarded based upon the student's demonstrated financial need, leadership ability and academic performance.
    • All incoming and current undergraduate and graduate legacy students with a 3.0 GPA or better may apply.
    • Applicants must be enrolled as full-time students at RIT.
    • Awards are given once annually and are renewable only by reapplication.
  • How do I apply for the Alumni Legacy Scholarship?
  • Complete this online form.
    • All correspondence regarding the scholarship will be conducted through email.
    • Scholarship applications must be completed and submitted by April 12, 2014.
    • Winners will be selected by the Alumni Association Board of Directors Award Committee and will be notified of their award by May 31, 2014.

Do you need to do professional or academic research? Read the news? Review trade journals? As a graduate, you'll enjoy privileges with the Wallace Library by using Proquest, an online database of academic databases available at no cost to you as an RIT alum. All you have to do to gain access is to register through the Alumni Network and use your username and password to connect to the Library's resources. If you are already a member of the Alumni Network, click here to access Proquest.

In addition to providing you with international travel opportunities, you can also increase your intellectual development with classes in the community at RIT's own Osher Lifelong Learning Institute.
