Sustainability Ph.D. Gets State Approval
RIT has received State approval for its doctoral degree in sustainability. The program is the first in the world focused on sustainable production and seeks to advance research and education in alternative-energy development, sustainable design, green product development, industrial ecology and pollution prevention.
RIT Helps Create Next Step in Information Revolution
A team of researchers from RIT and the University of Washington are attempting to build the first active quantum optic device for use on traditional electronic chips. The technology has the potential to greatly increase the functionality of quantum communication and information processing systems.
RIT, Harris Corp. Team Up to Enhance Communication Security
RIT and Harris Corp. have entered into a collaborative agreement to further the development of encrypted Bluetooth communication technology for use in tactical military radio applications. The project will expand the use of secure Bluetooth, which will enhance the flexibility and efficiency of communication systems.

Buy a Brick – Leave a Lasting Memory
A great way to “make your mark” at RIT is to buy a brick that will become part of the Quarter Mile Legacy Walk. You can purchase a 4”x 8” personalized, engraved brick for $175. Brick gifts help support endowed scholarships, and you can direct your gift to one of 22 endowed scholarship funds.

Allison (Orke) Young (2001) and Colin Young are happy to announce their marriage on June 24, 2008 in Our Lady of Pompei Church in Syracuse, NY. They traveled throughout Europe for their honeymoon. They currently reside in Bethesda, MD.

A reminder that RIT is hosting a webinar for anyone interested in online study.
Tuesday, November 11, 7-8 p.m. eastern time. In this webinar you will learn the technologies used in delivering asynchronous education, receive an instructor’s point of view, and tour an online classroom.
Online Graduate Certificate in Project Management
If you need to quickly become proficient in the field of project management, look to RIT. Students will complete a series of three core courses in project management with two additional elective courses designed to customize the program of study.
