Liberty League
RIT to Join Liberty League
RIT and Bard College will join the Liberty League as full members, beginning in the 2011-12 academic year. The league includes founding members Clarkson University, Hamilton College, Hobart and William Smith Colleges, the University of Rochester, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, St. Lawrence University, Skidmore College, and Union College.

Forumla One Car
Formula Team Takes First in California
After several years of top five placements in international competitions, the Formula SAE Racing Team took first place overall among 81 teams in the 2009 Collegiate Design Series California event on June 20. This was the first time the team placed first overall in the US and swept the individual categories in the weekend competition.
Xerox grad
First Cohort of Xerox Program Scholars Graduate
Students from Xerox Corp. sites across the country met at RIT the week of June 1 to deliver final capstone projects and complete their degree programs as the first graduating class of the RIT-Xerox Degree Program. The program combines coursework from multiple RIT colleges and is delivered primarily online.

First Graduate Research Symposium — July 22
Come hear presentations from RIT's Ph.D. and Master's students on a broad range of topics. Students will present their research in the sciences, the arts, business, and technology. This will be a great opportunity to see what's happening at RIT through the work of some of the finest graduate students in the world.

25th Annual Big Shot — September 26
The Big Shot, often described as painting with light, involves hundreds of volunteers, armed with flashlights and camera flashes, illuminating a distinctive landmark during an extended exposure. This year we are delighted to announce that the Big Shot photo project will take place at the Smithsonian's National Museum of the American Indian.

Fall Career Fair — September 30
Please join us for our Annual Fall Career Fair, 11am-4pm in the Gordon Field House. This event traditionally attracts 200+ employers. Open to alumni and students only from all majors.
Brick City Homecoming — October 9-11
Make plans to join us for Homecoming weekend. Saturday night, our Men's Division 1 Hockey team takes on Colgate at downtown Rochester's Blue Cross Arena; graduates from the classes of 2007, 1999, 1989, 1984, 1979, 1969, and 1959 celebrate reunions; plus, your favorite Brick City traditions.

It's a Girl!
Amanda Keller-Finbar (2004) and Erik Finbar are proud to announce the birth of a baby girl, Kendall Kathleen Finbar. She was born on May 24, 2009 in West Seneca, NY, and weighed 7 lb., 13 oz.

Seeing Family Again...
Michael Johnsen (2009) visits his brother aboard the Navy ship USS Iwo Jima LHD-7. Michael was taking part in a Tiger Cruise, a program whereby a person serving in the Navy invites a family member onboard to experience a 7-10 day cruise on an aircraft carrier as it sails from one port to another.

Jessica Santelli (1989) is the author of "Follow the Trail: A Young Person's Guide to the Great Outdoors" and "When I Grow Up: A young person's guide to interesting & unusual occpations." An accomplished graphic designer and painter, Jessica is an associate professor at the Center for Art and Design at the College of Saint Rose."

The E. Philip Saunders College of Business has launched an e-learning Executive MBA program. Classes begin in September, and the 72-week program is identical to the curriculum taught on site-and includes an international trip for students to explore the global influence of business.
