RITís First Computing Ph.D. Students Cross the Stage at Graduation
The computing and information sciences Ph.D. program has seen substantial growth. If the programís first two graduates this spring are any indication, it will continue to grow. Both already have their next career steps solidified, including Linwei Wang who has accepted a tenure-track faculty position in GCCIS.

Big Shot Spectacular Heads to Nationís Capital
The Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of the American Indian in Washington, D.C. is the subject of the 25th Big Shot photograph on Sept. 26. This annual photograph requires many volunteers to help illuminate the subject during an extended exposure and is expected to draw many alumni from D.C.
Preview Inside Center for Student Innovation Showcases What's to Come
Visitors at Imagine RIT on May 2 got a sneak peek at the glass-enclosed, 10,000-square-foot Center for Student Innovation. Now open to visitors, alumni are encouraged to visit the center, part of a $15.6 million, 54,000-square-foot complex that also incorporates the three-story University Services Center. A formal dedication of the building will take place in the fall.
'Legacy of Photography' Center Created
As traditional photography processes are passing into history, George Eastman House International Museum of Photography & Film and the Image Permanence Institute at RIT are launching a Center for the Legacy of Photography. The center will focus on collecting and sharing knowledge about photographic materials of the past two centuries.
Brick City Homecoming, October 9-11
Make plans to join us for Homecoming weekend. There is something for everyone! Saturday night, our Men's Division 1 Hockey team takes on Colgate at downtown Rochester's Blue Cross Arena; graduates from the classes of 2007, 1999, 1989, 1984, 1979, 1969, and 1959 celebrate reunions; plus, your favorite Brick City traditions.

Jessica Alderman (2006) and Frank LoBello (2004) are happy to announce their engagement. The wedding ceremony will take place on August 7, 2009 in Gloucester, MA. Frank and Jessica met during their first year at RIT in 2000.
Scott Risinger (2003) and Rachael Vollaro are happy to announce their marriage on May 29, 2009 at Lombardi's on the Sound in Port Jefferson, NY. They currently reside in Kew Gardens, NY. Tung-To Lam (CAST) attended the ceremony. They honeymooned in Santorini, Greece and Tuscany, Italy.
