High-tech Imaging Captures Haiti Disaster
Imaging scientists from RIT are collaborating with Google, Microsoft, World Bank, and others to gather high-definition images of damage in Port-au-Prince, following the Jan. 12 earthquake. Aerial images will provide vital information for damage assessment and reconstruction. Learn more »

NanoPower Research Labs Developing Next-Generation Solar Cells
A research team led by Seth Hubbard, assistant professor of physics, is working with NASA's Glenn Research Center to improve the manufacture of high-concentration photovoltaics—solar cells with significant power capacity and increased efficiency compared with other power sources. Read more »

Men's Hockey Moves intoFfirst Place in AHA Standings
The men's hockey team moved into sole possession of first place in the American Hockey Association standings after defeating Bentley 4-1 in front of 1,692 fans at Ritter Arena last Friday. Four different Tigers scored to lead a balanced offensive attack. Goaltender Jared DeMichiel stopped 30 shots. Read more »

Traveling Film Festival Stops at RIT
The Banff Mountain Film Festival will showcase a selection of award-winning films featuring environmental and adventure themes at 7 p.m. Feb. 20 and 21 in Webb Auditorium. The tour will travel to 285 communities and 30 countries across the globe. Read more »

It's a Boy!
Patricia (Synakowski) Lanter '94 and Jared Lanter '94 are proud to announce the birth of a baby boy, Evan Michael. He was born on September 11, 2009 in Kansas City, MO, and weighed 7 lb., 7 oz. Evan's big brothers Alex (Age 7) and Nathaniel (Age 3) love playing with him and will teach him to play XBOX as soon as he can hold the controller.

Eugene Penler '50 (CIAS) and soon to be alumnus Krishna C. Madaparthi '13 (GCCIS) meet coincidently at the 390th Memorial Museum Foundation in Tucson, AZ. Their love of aircraft and RIT created an instant bond. Lt. Penler served the U.S. 8th Air Force aboard the B-29 Bombadier. Breanna Shartzer '13 (GCCIS) shares in the mini alumni reunion!

Patrick Petronelli, a 2005 graduate of RIT/NTID, created DeafPals.com, a free social-networking Web site, aims to help deaf and hard-of-hearing people find friends on the Internet. Recently launched, the site has already attracted more than 800 members. Learn more »
