The appointments of Brooks Bower '74, Robert D. Moore Jr. '91 and Anne M. Sevier-Buckingham were announced during the July board meeting. The Board of Trustees has 60 active members, including 28 alumni. Read more »

Engineering students honored for device design
A team of students won the grand prize for its E-Health Intelligence System at the Freescale Technology Forum "Make It Challenge" event in June. The system is a health-monitoring device, small enough to fit in a patient's pocket, and the data can be accessed anywhere in the world by physicians. Read more »

Hall of Fame class of 2011 announced
Six individuals and the 1955-1956 basketball team were selected for induction. Ceremonies will take place Oct. 11. Read more »

NTID gets $4.45M to create Center of Excellence
The National Science Foundation has given the award to the National Technical Institute for the Deaf to establish DeafTEC: Technological Education Center for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Students. Read more »

Project combines anxiety therapy, video games
A team of students and faculty from RIT and St. John Fisher College is designing and building a groundbreaking computer game to help young people improve their everyday skills in self-control.

Wedding Bells
Kristin Semmler-Frace '07 is happy to announce her marriage to Robert Frace on October 9, 2010, which took place in Spencerport, NY. In June 2011, the couple took a cruise through the Mediterranean for their honeymoon.

Dr. Tracy Weber '99 was named 2011 Swan Valley High School Distinguished Alumnae. Tracy is currently CEO and founder of Kaleidoscope Learning Circle, llc. which helps individuals and teams develop self-awareness and leadership skills through partnering with horses, a process called Equine Assisted Learning. Tracy is also an adjunct for RIT's College of Applied Science & Technology and RIT Dubai, delivering courses in Customer Relationship Management.

Kurt Hertzog(EE) '74 recently retired after 35 years as an engineer and manager in the electronics and automotive industry. He has continued his woodturning and teaching into his retirement continuing to teach and demonstrate nationally and internationally. Kurt writes two regular feature columns for Woodturning Design Magazine. He was also recently elected to the Board of Directors of the American Association of Woodturners.
