President Munson had the chance to talk with Sophie Schillaci ’10 while in the Los Angeles area earlier this year. Sophie is a host, producer and writer for Entertainment Tonight, where she also appears as a contributing correspondent and pens articles for her columns, “Certified Country” and “Interviews Under the Influence.” She was previously an entertainment reporter for MTV News, a staff reporter for The Hollywood Reporter and a contributing editor of zap2it.com.

Tom Connor ’11 is Vice President of Creative Marketing at the Walt Disney Company. He spoke with President Munson in Los Angeles in early January to share his experiences of working in the television and film industry, and how his time as an RIT student has proved invaluable to the success he’s achieved in his career. Prior to Walt Disney, Tom was Senior Vice President of Marketing and Creative Services for Paramount Pictures.

This year’s program featured a keynote address by Dr. Marc Lamont Hill (host of BET News and a political contributor for CNN), a musical performance by Danielle Ponder and the Tomorrow People, and poetry from alumna Reenah Golden ’97.
