Design Your Future

Overview

Spark your creativity and design flair with a free all-day visit to RIT’s School of Design on Oct. 11, 2019! The school —named by Business Week as one of the top 10 design schools in the country — offers BFA programs in 3D Digital Design, Graphic Design, Industrial Design, Interior Design and New Media Design. Throughout the Design Your Future event, prospective students will:

  • Meet with renowned faculty and staff
  • Gain insights from current students
  • Participate in hands-on workshops
  • Tour studio spaces and labs

Attendees can also receive portfolio reviews and the Office of Undergraduate Admissions will present information about the application and financial aid process.

Our New Media Lab is equipped with 24 open Apple iMacs, allowing for students and faculty to work in collaboration to accomplish the goals of any project.

Admissions and financial aid presentations (University Gallery) and tours of the Vignelli Center for Design Studies, a world-class design museum accessible to students. The facility houses the archive of renowned designers Massimo and Lella Vignelli, whose graphic and product work are icons of international design.

* Parents will have the opportunity to attend both the financial aid presentation and tour during this time frame.

Optional School of Design tour, portfolio reviews and campus tour. *Both tours depart from University Gallery.

Parking and Directions

Check-in for the day’s program will take place in RIT's University Gallery, located on the second floor of Booth Hall. Parking for the day is complimentary with permits, which will be emailed to confirmed registrants the week prior to Day of Design.
