Visual Storytelling for the Graphic Novel
3 Credits
This course is an intensive investigation into the graphic novel as a medium for artistic practice. Designed for students interested in the art of storytelling through graphic novels. Students will explore composing a story, developing a pace through layout and composition, learning the fundamental tools of sequential illustration and then unifying the entire structure with the intent of creating a graphic novel.

Topics in Illustration
3 Credits
This course will focus on the investigation of, and practice in, a selected topic in illustration. Subject offerings will vary by sub-field specializations in the illustration field. A subtopic course description will be published each term course is offered and may have limited repeatability. The course, however can be repeated.

Drawing for Non-Majors
3 Credits
This class is devoted to developing basic skills in drawing. Formal art elements, mark making, observational skills, and personal expression will be stressed. Students will engage in issues of representation and abstraction through relationships of marks, lines and other graphic notations.
