About

Experience a range of technology, equipment and demos, as well as presentations by world-renowned photographers and storytellers, during the annual Film+FotoFest@RIT!

Join us Sept. 16 and 17, 2026

Housed in RIT's state-of-the-art digital playground and production facility, MAGIC Spell Studios, this multi-day showcase celebrates the art of photography and cinematography. The event, held each fall, is open to the RIT community and general public, providing an opportunity to browse and try the latest camera technologies from industry-leading brands and companies. Industry professionals also lead a series of presentations for conference registrants to attend. 

Programming includes:

  • Trade show — a curated exhibition space to showcase products and services
  • Featured presentations — photography and film experts will lead insightful sessions
  • Studio demos — vendors have the opportunity to offer hands-on experiences for attendees
  • Networking — this is a space for photographers, filmmakers and industry professional to connect

Film+FotoFest@RIT is sponsored by RIT’s School of Photographic Arts and Sciences, School of Film and Animation, and MAGIC Spell Studios. First held in 2024, Professor Emeritus Bob Rose served as lead organizer of the first two festivals. 

For the 2026 event, the trade show floor will be open from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. both days, followed by keynote speakers at 5 p.m.
