Getting Involved and Volunteering

Though not a lot of students may have the money to help organizations that they believe in, they may have a little spare time to help out! Here are a few volunteer opportunities that RIT suggests.

Foodlink is dedicated to leverage the power of food to end hunger and support communities in need of help. They have been helping for 40 years in Allegany, Genesee, Livingston, Monroe, Ontario, Orleans, Seneca, Wayne, Wyoming, and Yates counties. They provide nutrition and culinary education initiatives to encourage families to make healthy decisions, and distribute nearly 20 million pounds of food through their food bank annually to a network of nonprofit partners. Ways to get involved include packing emergency food supply boxes at our offsite facility on Jefferson Road, or donation sorting at Foodlink’s distribution center.
