I enjoy that the program is hands-on oriented; since I am a kinesthetic learner it helps to apply what we learn in class in the lab. I also enjoy that the professors have real world experience and are able to communicate to the students using real life scenarios instead of just teaching us material. Adjunct professors who are currently working in the field taught some of the most informative classes I have taken. All of the professors are kind and understanding but also take the program and their work seriously. The DOL lab provides any software that we may need for our studies and then some. Much software is also available to be installed on personal computers, allowing students to work on projects outside of available lab hours. The hands on experience in the lab is helpful for applying concepts learned in the classroom. The ASCE club allows many opportunities to get involved with others in the major to take on projects and participate in competitions. The faculty is always helpful, all the professors, academic advisors and office staff are always willing to help out with any problem.
