Travel

By air: Grand Rapids is served by the Gerald Ford Airport (GRR) by Delta, United, American, Air Tran, Allegiant, and Air Canada. The Courtyard Downtown is about 15 miles from the airport, $35- 40 by cab. Uber and Lyft charge about $16 –20. 

For those who would like to use public transit: the city bus service #17 picks up at the airport at 37 minutes after the hour, beginning at 6:37 AM with its last run at 10:37PM. Bus #17 will take you to Woodland Mall (a 15-minute ride) where you transfer (wait time 8 minutes) to the #6 bus that will take you downtown (35 minutes). Get off at the Ottawa Avenue and Fulton St. stop (Van Andel Arena). From there the walk to the Courtyard Downtown is two blocks. The cost to ride the bus is $1.75, drivers do not make change. Be sure to ask the driver on #17 for a free transfer to ride #6 bus.

Driving: From Chicago Grand Rapids is about 3 hours by way of I-90 EAST, I-94 EAST to I-196/US 31 North. From Detroit it is about 2 ½ hours taking I-696 WEST to I-96 WEST to I-196 WEST/US 31 North.

Parking at Marriott Courtyard is $16 a day.
