Performing Artists Concert Series: Trio Confero

Friday, October 26, 2018 - 8:00pm
Ingle Auditorium, RIT

Trio Confero
Maksim Shtrykov, clarinet
Anita Balázs, cello
Misuzu Tanaka, piano

RIT's Performing Artists Concert Series is proud to welcome back clarinetist Makism Shtrykov and pianist Misuzu Tanaka who have recently been joined by cellist Anita Balázs to form Trio Confero.

TRIO CONFERO was founded by Shtrykov as a logical continuation of his quest to bring the superb yet seldom performed chamber music repertoire for clarinet to a larger audience. The musical journey began in 2012 when, together with Tanaka, they formed the Shtrykov-Tanaka Duo and began touring the country, garnering an impressive record of re-engagements.

Confero is a Latin verb that means to bring together, unite, and contribute, and this is precisely what Trio Confero intends to do by presenting rarely performed repertoire for clarinet, cello and piano, written by such giants as Brahms, Beethoven, Bruch, Faure and Glinka.

The Trio's three exceptionally talented musicians are, collectively, prizewinners of many international competitions and are graduates of prestigious music academies (The Juilliard School and Yale School of Music).

Please visit the Trio’s website for more detailed information about themselves and their ensemble:

Tickets are $5 for students, $15 for RIT faculty/staff/alumni, and $20 for the general public. They may be purchased at the door, in advance from the University Arenas Box Office (585-475-4121) or online at All seating is unreserved.

There will be an after concert reception in the Fireside Lounge adjacent to the auditorium in the
Student Alumni Union (SAU).
