RIT K-12 University Center's Camp Tiger is offering two workshops this summer in collaboration with RIT College of Liberal Arts' Department of RIT Performing Arts and Visual Culture! Acting and Improvisation 101 led by Theatre Arts faculty member David Munnell and Electronic Music & Sound Production which will be taught by Music faculty member Ryan Gaynor. Acting and Improvisation 101 (Grades 9 - 12) Did you know that you can get involved with the performing arts at RIT? This workshop will engage campers in acting improvisations and scene work to develop skills in the craft of acting. Campers will present a showcase of their scene work and/or improvisations for parents at the end of the workshop. Offered in collaboration with the department of Performing Arts and Visual Culture. 2-week workshop
Electronic Music & Sound Production (Grades 9 - 12) Have you ever wanted to learn how to produce Electronic Music or EDM? In this workshop offered in collaboration with RIT Performing Arts, learn how to compose, synthesize, edit, mix, and even DJ electronic music tracks. You will learn how to: use a Digital Audio Workstation (DAW); create sample-based percussion tracks; layer basslines; design sound effects and ambience; create lead melodies and harmonies; synthesize pad and atmospheric sounds; add vocals or vocal effects; process tracks with EQ, compression, delay, and reverb. The workshop will also include an introduction to synthesizers, arranging, and mixing with Ableton Live. 2-week workshop.
