Berlin: Journey of a City

This engrossing historical documentary tells the story of Berlin, beginning with the Allied Occupation and ending with the departure of US troops from the city's boundaries. In 1945, the Allies succeeded in defeating the Nazis, and they triumphantly marched into Berlin. Then, three years later, the Russians took over the eastern half of the city; until 1989, Berlin remained split -- never more surely than in the years following the 1961 erection of the wall. But in 1989, this obstacle to reunification fell... and Berlin became one again.
