Prior to joining GCCIS as an Academic Advisor, Julio completed a 4-year Active Duty Air Force assignment as an ROTC Instructor at RIT, which helped him to discover his passion for helping students navigate their collegiate journey. He is excited to help students develop and hone their leadership and critical thinking skills, cultivate a love of lifelong learning, bring awareness of the impact of diversity and inclusion in the workplace, and create a positive and safe academic environment.
Born in Argentina and raised in Venezuela, Julio came to the United State in 1993 and has called Western New York home since his arrival. He earned his BA in Psychology and MBA at Canisius College, and his MS in Health Systems Administration at RIT. After completing his MBA, Julio worked in the banking sector, starting in the retail branch networks before switching to the commercial equipment leasing segment. At 28 years old he embarked on a military journey with the US Air Force and has proudly served for the last 17 years.
He loves going on adventures with his wife and two kids, and enjoys anything related to airplanes, WW2, cars, exercising, cooking, and traveling.
