Bio

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who enjoys working with and learning from college students here at RIT.  I completed my Master of Social Work degree at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan where I lived for 15 years prior to relocating to Roch. NY.  Post graduate training includes Trauma Counselor Certification from SUNY Buffalo, CBT-I (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia) from U Penn's Perlman School of Medicine and Cognitive Processing Therapy (from the VA).

My approach to therapy is grounded in evidence-based practices and informed by cognitive behavioral, psychodynamic, trauma informed and mindfulness-based approaches to psychotherapy.

My goal in working with people in psychotherapy is to help them make sense of what is happening within themselves and in their lives and to support them in making meaningful and helpful change, which means different things to different people. We will work together to understand what this could mean for you.

Prior to working at RIT, I held positions at Nazareth College Counseling Center and UR Strong Memorial OB/GYN Clinical Coordinator and Rochester General Hospital. In Detroit, I worked at a large rehabilitation center with persons with spinal cord and head injuries as well as other neurological conditions.

In my spare time I enjoy physical exercise, spending time with my family and am an avid sports fan!
