Bio

Hi. I am Licensed Mental Health Therapist with an extensive background in community and crisis work. I have a bachelor’s degree in Sociology with a minor in African and African American Studies from Brockport. I got my master’s from St. John Fisher College in Mental Health Counseling.

I was born in Rochester and consider myself a “wanderer at heart.” Starting in childhood, I've trekked through several moves which exposed me to life in the North, South, East, and West. I have also lived in urban, suburban and rural areas. This is to say, I appreciate different ways of living and surviving and by extension I think a lot about difference and diversity.

As a clinician, my work is rooted in feminist and restorative models which are both focused on equity. I use solutions-focused and problem-solving interventions as well narrative therapy. I believe that “knowledge is power” and the more we learn about ourselves the more power we have as individuals to make choices that can enhance our well- being. I also recognize that we collectively exist within power structures that can be oppressive and feel suffocating and it can be incredibly difficult to stay well while navigating yourself through. My goal is to help you gain a deeper understanding about yourself and your needs while helping to create plans and paths forward that help you feel empowered to maintain your well-being.

On a personal note, I like to teach body acceptance through movement and yoga. I also enjoy the outdoors in my free time both of which are also ways I express self- care. I am interested to learn more about you.
