Why Annual Giving Matters

No Greater Need

Fund for RIT gifts support student scholarships

Last year, more than $1.8 million in annual fund gifts were directed to scholarships and fellowships in RIT's nine colleges – 32 percent of all money given to the annual fund. Supporting scholarships means supporting students who dream of what an RIT education can offer them, but can't hope to pay the cost of tuition without crippling student loans. And, in addition to gifts directed to scholarships, many of the unrestricted gifts to the Fund for RIT end up as financial aid for RIT's students.

This year, the university will grant more than $140,000,000 in institute-funding financial aid to make a high quality education affordable for more than 75% of students attending RIT. Your gifts to the Fund for RIT help offset that enormous financial strain on the university.

If you are an alumnus who cares about RIT and our ability to keep the university affordable for future students, your annual gift is the best way to start making positive change today.

Fund for RIT gifts to scholarships accounted for more than $1.8 million last year, with most of those gifts going to funds available to students from any area of the university.
