We’re celebrating the Emerson Challenge Success!

Gifts to the Emerson Challenge helped us reach our goal to establish a $1,000,000 endowed fund for undergraduate research in RIT’s College of Science. Gifts from College of Science alumni and friends given between October 1, 2014, and September 30, 2015, merged with the matching funds from the Fred L. Emerson Foundation to create this invaluable fund.

Undergraduate research is a critical real-world experience for students in science and math. Much like a co-op position, research provides the hands-on, professional experience that makes our students into better scientists. Thanks to the Emerson Endowed Fellowship Program, which was supported by this challenge, we will DOUBLE the number of undergraduate students in our summer research program.

On behalf of our future scientists and the entire College of Science family, heartfelt thanks to everyone who supported the challenge.
