Plea for Assistance

The Division of Diversity and Inclusion Summer Experience (DDI SE) is an intensive residential pre-freshmen academic program that consists of credit-bearing courses and community-building activities for incoming first-year students. The goals of the DDI SE are: student academic preparation, community engagement, and RIT assimilation. This year's program will be offered from Saturday, July 8 to Friday, August 4, 2023. During these dates students remain on campus and take two college courses (3 credits each). In addition, there are developmental workshops, academic coaching and community building activities. This program helps first-year students get acclimated to RIT, building confidence and bridges to resources before the school year begins.

The approximate value of the program is $14,000 for a double in the residence halls, debit for food, tuition, fees, books and supplies. Although valued at $14,000, the total cost to families is only the $350 registration fee.

Families with a demonstrated need may submit a plea for assistance in order to receive a reduction in the cost of the registration fee. Please fill out the form below.
